With only 12,000 visible tombstones there is an estimate of over 100,000 bodies. Why are there so many bodies here? Because everyone is just dying to get in (Halloween humor).
Isla de las Muñecas
An award for creepiest destination goes to Xochimilco, Mexico for Isla de las Muñecas, or Island of the Dolls. Only one man has lived on the island, Jalian Santana Barrera, who collected dolls left behind by tourist and locals and hangs them from trees of his island. He was said to do this in order to keep was spirits of a dead girl he discovered. Barrera died in 2001, many said was insanity due to loneliness of living alone with dolls while some said the dolls themselves came to life and killed him.
