While it may not be as obvious a destination as England, France, or Italy, more and more people are realizing that Germany has plenty of its own charm and an endless list of things to see and do. With Lufthansa - its national carrier - being one of the largest airlines in the world, finding flights to Germany couldn't be easier regardless of where you are starting. And using Webjet you'll be able to quickly find the cheapest flights on any airline as well as the best days to fly for the absolute lowest price airfare possible. Germany is a bit unusual in that its largest and busiest airport is in its banking center, Frankfurt, which isn't known as a popular tourist destination. The airport is centrally located so taking a train or a short flight to another city is very easy. There are also busy airports in Munich and Berlin, as well as one in Dusseldorf serving the heavily populated and scenic Rhine-Ruhr region in the west.
Airfare to Germany
Frankfurt airport is such a major hub for long-haul flights that it actually serves more international destinations than any other airport in the world. Many of these are on Lufthansa Airlines, but nearly every major carrier in the world comes here so finding a cheap flight to Germany is usually simple. If you are specifically going to Munich or Berlin or Hamburg then you'll probably find that a flight directly into that city is worthwhile and only a bit more expensive than flying into Frankfurt. But if you are going to tour around Germany as most people do then Frankfurt is as good of a starting and ending point as any.
Airports In Germany
Frankfurt Airport (FRA)
Located only about 12km outside of the city center, Frankfurt Airport is a very modern and efficient facility that is very easy to deal with for incoming passengers. It has an amazing array of incoming airlines so it's well suited to process people quickly through immigration and customs. It also has two train stations on the location, one for local trips into Frankfurt and another for long distance trains that can take you directly to another city quickly.
Airlines that fly into Frankfurt Airport
Germany's own Lufthansa Airlines is based in Frankfurt so it has by far the most flights here every day. You can also reach Frankfurt through a European hub on British Airways, Air France, or KLM Airlines, among others. Coming from North America you can also fly nonstop on Air Canada, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines or US Airways.
Munich Airport (MUC)
Munich is perhaps the most popular destination in Germany for international travelers, so it's no surprise that its airport is also extremely busy. It doesn't have nearly as many long-haul flights coming in, but it's very busy with regional flights, which can be very cheap. The Munich Airport is about 30km outside the center, but it's on the train line so getting into central Munich is easy and cheap.
Airlines that fly into Munich Airport
Lufthansa Airlines and Air Berlin are the two busiest German airlines serving Munich, but you have many choices beyond those two. From London you can fly on British Airways, and connections in other European cities are easy on Air France, KLM Airlines, or Iberia Airlines. From North America you can fly nonstop on Air Canada, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines or US Airways.
Dusseldorf Airport (DUS)
The city of Dusseldorf actually lies within the largest metropolitan area in Germany, with the cities of Dortmund, Essen, and Cologne all closely bunched together. The Dusseldorf airport is also one of the better places for cheap flights to Germany, and during summers in particular you can find some great deals into the city. The airport is directly on the train line so you can quickly get to any of the large local cites in the area with little hassle.
Airlines that fly into Dusseldorf Airport

From within Europe or with a quick plane change you can reach Dusseldorf on Air France, British Airways, or EasyJet Airlines, among others.
