Cheap flights to MexicoMexico is known to most travelers as an exciting and affordable place for winter vacations, but the country's rich history is now getting more attention so more people are heading to Mexico City and elsewhere in the interior. Nearly every major airline in the world flies into the resort areas as well as the capital and this makes finding cheap flights to Mexico easier than ever. And using Webjet you'll be able to quickly find the cheapest flights on any airline as well as the best days to fly for the absolute lowest price airfare possible. Mexico City has by far the busiest airport in the country, but for leisure travelers Cancun is the first place most people think of. Along the Pacific coast there is the newly popular Los Cabos along with Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, and Mazatlan, all of which are big with people from the west coast of the US and Canada. Most of the resort traffic is seasonal, though all major airports remain busy all year round. Airfare to MexicoSince the country itself has two large national carriers - AeroMexico Airlines and Mexicana Airlines - it's easy to find flights to Mexico from most major destinations in the Americas and beyond. All the major US carriers as well as several from Europe also fly into the country regularly so competition is high and that keeps prices generally low. Airports In MexicoMexico City International Airport (MEX)As the primary airport in one of the world's largest metropolitan area, it's no surprise that the Mexico City Airport is the busiest in the country. It has heavy domestic traffic as well as business traffic, but tourists are coming in increasing numbers as well. The city is one of the hot new destinations so it's likely that more international airlines will be coming in the future. The airport is located a bit outside of the city center, but it's on the metro line so you can reach your hotel cheaply, and bus and taxi service is also available. Airlines that fly into Mexico City AirportWhile AeroMexico Airlines and Mexicana Airlines are the two busiest carriers into Mexico City, they have plenty of company. From elsewhere in North America you can arrive on Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways. From Europe you can fly in directly on Air France, British Airways, Iberia Airlines, KLM Airlines, or Lufthansa Airlines. Cancun International Airport (CUN)Mexico's hottest Caribbean resort area seems to get more popular every year so it's no wonder that Cancun Airport is the second busiest in the country. Much of the air traffic is seasonal as the area is far less popular during the summer rainy season, so especially if you want to come during the Christmas holiday period it's best to book well in advance. Airlines that fly into Cancun AirportMost of the same airlines that fly into the capital also offer cheap flights to Cancun Airport so your biggest players again are AeroMexico Airlines and Mexicana Airlines. From the north you can get to Cancun on Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, and WestJet Airlines. From Europe you can fly in directly on Air Berlin, Air Europa, Condor Airlines, and several other low-cost carriers. Los Cabos International Airport (SJD)Being the closest major resort area to the west coast of the US and Canada has helped make Los Cabos Airport one of the busiest in the country in recent years. It serves several different communities in the area so ground transportation usually means shuttles, taxis, or rental cars. Airlines that fly into Los Cabos AirportMexicana Airlines flies into Los Cabos from several major US hub cities. Other airlines serving the airport directly include Alaska Airlines, Air Canada, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways. Puerto Vallarta, Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR)Puerto Vallarta is one of the classic Pacific ocean resorts and it seems to be getting even more popular in recent years. The Puerto Vallarta Airport is located just north of the main resort area so cheap taxis are best for most people, though shuttles and buses are present as well. Airlines that fly into Puerto Vallarta AirportAeroMexico Airlines and Mexicana Airlines both fly into PV from major US hubs. Plenty of other airlines are there as well, including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, and WestJet Airlines. |
