Cheap flights to New ZealandNew Zealand is one of those rare magical destinations in the world where everyone who has ever been there raves about the place. The two main islands that make up the country are filled with almost every imaginable type of scenery, in spite of their small collective size. The raves from previous visitors continue to make flights to New Zealand very popular, and using Webjet you’ll be able to quickly find the cheapest flights on any airline as well as the best days to fly for the absolute lowest price airfare possible. While the country has quite a few international airports, most of the smaller ones can't be reached from farther away than Australia. The two exceptions are the large and modern airport in Auckland, which handles most of the long-haul flights, and a smaller airport in Christchurch on the South Island that can be reached directly from several Asian cities as well as large Australian cities. Airfare to New ZealandIf you are coming from outside the region then you are almost certainly going to be landing in Auckland first. This consolidation actually helps make flights to New Zealand reasonably priced, and you can reach anywhere else in the country in two hours or less on a cheap domestic flight. You can also book directly into a city such as Queenstown, and most likely you'll be switching planes in Auckland anyway. Airports In New ZealandAuckland Airport (AKL)By far the largest in the country, Auckland Airport is served by quite a few large international carriers, in addition to the busy Air New Zealand. This competition means that most people are no more than one stop from landing in Auckland, with flights coming in from many important transportation hub cities in the region and elsewhere. The airport is a bit north of the city center and the Airbus Express shuttle buses are the best choice unless you can afford an expensive taxi ride. Airlines that fly into Auckland AirportNo surprise that Air New Zealand is the busiest carrier here, and it's a major airline in spite of the country's low population. Speaking of outsized airlines, Air Tahiti Nui does great business to New Zealand from Los Angeles with stopovers in Papeete. You can also fly into Auckland on Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas Airways, Singapore Airlines, and Thai Airways International. Christchurch International Airport (CHC)Since most people agree that the scenery of the South Island is more dramatic, and much of the adventure travel industry is based there as well, it's convenient that Christchurch Airport also handles some international flights. In many cases the best deal will have you switching planes in Auckland anyway, but especially if you are coming from Australia you have options directly into Christchurch. The airport isn't far from the city center so you'll be able to get in on a public bus, airport shuttle, or an inexpensive taxi ride. Airlines that fly into Christchurch AirportThe national carrier, Air New Zealand, is also your most likely choice for getting into Christchurch, but you have several other options. Emirates Airlines flies all the way from Dubai as well as Bangkok and Sydney. Jetstar Airways, Qantas Airways, and Pacific Blue come from Australia, and Singapore Airlines comes from that country.
